JDSU laser diode is an 8W high power single emitter in a 2 pin fiber coupled module. The attached data sheet and specifications brochure reference this device as an uncooled multimode pump module to simplify next-generation erbium doped fiber amplifier designs for fiber to the X applications and CATV applications. The following key attributes are detailed: The need for thermoelectric coolers has been eliminated and so has their control circuitry. This newest JDSU device is built upon the success of the 4800 series diode lasers. These pumps feature higher power from a smaller and un-cooler package footprint and have isolated electrical pins for simplified thermal and electrical management. These JDSU diode lasers deliver up to 8W of optical output power from a 105 micron fiber. Additionally, these devices take advantage of existing global infrastructure to combine high reliability with cost-effective manufacturing.
